Blink & Dan Nicholls Quartet CBSO Centre 8.00pm £tbc Two of the top young UK bands strongly associated with the Birmingham Conservatoire and also the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Blink features pianist Alcyona Mick, graduate of the first jazz course at the Conservatoire and also of the Royal Academy, plus saxophonist Robin Fincker and the great drummer Paul Clarvis. Dan Nicholls was one of the best ever graduates of the course and is now studying in Copenhagen. The originality, confidence and musicality of these groups is typical of British jazz today, and gives one great faith in the future.
