Stan Tracey Hexad

CBSO Centre

8pm

£15

(£10 to Birmingham Jazz Members & concessions)

'Stan Tracey is the godfather of British Jazz’ maybe a cliché, but it’s true. At the leading edge of contemporary jazz in the UK for half a century, he was amongst the European elite, who through their sheer excellence and creativity wrenched from North Americans their exclusive claim to the genre. This presentation is the latest version of Stan’s long-running excellent sextet, Hexad. With Mark Armstrong, trumpet; Simon Allen and Mornington Lockett on saxes, Clark on drums and Andy Cleyndert on bass.
