Continuing our education programme, this afternoon presents the results of the latest Birmingham Jazz Creative Futures project. Young musicians from all sorts of musical backgrounds have been exploring the possibilities of jazz and improvisation, and here is their chance to perform in a supportive and family orientated environment. All are welcome. Performances will include smaller and larger ensembles and the Birmingham Jazz Youth Group.

The Convergence Quartet features from New York Taylor Ho Bynum (cornet, etc.), touring with Harris Eisenstadt (drums, percussion), Alexander Hawkins (piano, etc.) and Dominic Lash (contrabass, preparations). Bringing together four of a new, young generation of improvisers who draw on both US and European traditions in their music.
