Friday 12th June Outhouse Quartet with Hilmar Jenssen CBSO Centre 8pm Tickets £12 (£8 for concs and BJ members) Outhouse has emerged from the London-based Loop Collective as one of the most interesting and innovative line-ups in contemporary UK jazz. Featuring Robin Fincker and Tom Challenger in a two-tenor front line, Johnny Brearley on bass and Dave Smith on drums. This project features Icelandic guitarist Hilmar Jensson, a long-time collaborator of New York scene-setter drummer Jim Black. His latest group Tyft mixes rock guitar feelings into a jazz context.
Tuesday 16th June Tim Amann & The X-tet The Jam House 9.30pm £free A very original band led by pianist Tim Amann playing Tim's very attractive original material. The band features Sam Rogers on saxophones, Ray Butcher on trumpet, Adam Gilchrist on bass and Carl Hemmingsley on drums. As with all our gigs at the Jam House this is a great chance to check out some excellent live music free of charge.

Wednesday 24th June Get The Blessing Jazz Club @ The Rainbow, Digbeth 8:30pm (band onstage 9pm) £3 BBC Jazz Award winners Get The Blessing are a genre-defying post-jazz rock quartet from Bristol. Featuring Jim Barr (bass) and Clive Deamer (drums) of Portishead fame, and Pete Judge (Trumpet and Electronics) and Jake McMurchie (Sax and Electronics). “Startling and Seamless” - David Sinclair (The Times)
