One of the defining moments in musical history was the studio recording Kind of Blue by the jazz trumpeter Miles Davis 60 years ago. This masterpiece is regarded by many critics as the greatest jazz record and one of the best albums of all time. Its influence on music has led writers to deem it one of the most influential albums ever recorded. In 2019 we want to celebrate this anniversary with a weekend festival on this theme. The Festival will deliver modern interpretations on the 60-year-old classic ‘Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue. The three-day Festival in May 2019 will include a programme of performances, some free to attend, performed by some of the best jazz musicians of the modern day.
